Origin of Bendre Surname : 

The name Bendre originated from " BEEDAR" Mawala Province from Madhya Pradesh. Bendre's are from Chandaseniya Kayastha Prabhu (CKP) community (this surname is also found in Brahmin community)

From Mawala Province 36 CKP families ( Bendre, Pradhan, Gupte, Dalvi, Chawale, Garude, Chitre, Jayvant, Nachane, Phanase, Mohile, Tamhane, Gadkari, Teware, Vakhare, Bhise, Likhite, Kamte, Satpute, Jawale, Tavkar, Vaidhya, Deopare, Bahire, Sule, Patne, Pangu, Korde, Tungari, Narkar, Dhighe, Randive, Raje, Kshipre, Skrukale, Durve, Khatik ) migrated towards Maharashtra and Karnataka. From Maharashtra some families went and settled in Rajasthan. 

 

Damodar Ganesh Bendre settled in Khalapur and was given "Jahagiri" by British Empire of Khalapur. 

Damodar's son Vaman was rewarded land for 100 years in Deolali Cantonment by British Empire, and he moved there from Khalapur. His decedents were born in Deolali. 

Over period of time decedents moved to different places in Maharashtra.
